International Erasmus+ Week in Ukraine: VIII International Bologna Process Conference “European Integration of Ukraine’ Higher Education in the Context of Bologna Process” (7.11.19, Kyiv)

TSNUK 12On 7 November 2019, within the framework of the International Erasmus + Week in Ukraine, the VIII International Bologna Process Conference “European Integration of Ukraine’ Higher Education in the Context of Bologna Process: Student-Centered Learning and Teaching, Evaluation as a Part of QA in Higher Education” was held.

The Conference was organized jointly by National Erasmus+ office – Ukraine together with: Ministry of Education and Sciences of Ukraine; the EU Delegation to Ukraine; National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance; National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine; Institute of Higher Education; Ukraine Parliament’s Committee on Education, Sciences and Innovations; British Council in Ukraine; Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Co-organizers: Erasmus+ Agencies from Programme Countries, National Erasmus+ Offices from Partner Countries, Programme and Partner Countries Universities.

More than 120 representatives of HEIs, HERE team, MESU, NQAA, the Parliament’ Committee on Science and Education, Ukrainian Association of Rectors, associations of employers, NAESU, Erasmus+ projects teams participated within the Bologna Conference. Learning Outcomes: Recommendations prepared and competencies developed for implementation of new approaches to Teaching&Learning, Recognition in frame of the QA system development: Student-centered Teaching and Learning; Evaluation of learning outcomes and recognition of credit mobility outcomes; Design and approval, monitoring and periodic review of study programmes; Professional development of the academic staff.

Volodymyr BUGROV, Vice-Rector of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Serhiy KVIT, Head of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, Vasyl KREMEN, President of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Simon WILLIAMS, Director of the British Council in Ukraine, Svitlana SHITIKOVA,Coordinator of the National Erasmus + Office in Ukraine welcomed participants with their warm greetings and opinions on European integration of Ukraine’ HE and Bologna process in line with Ukrainian realities and legislation.

Amélia VEIGA, TAM expert PhD in Education Sciences, Assist. Professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of University of Porto, Full-member of the Centre for Research and Intervention in Education (CIIE) and Collaborator of the Centre for Research on Higher Education Policies (CIPES) (Portugal) provided presentation on European Higher Education Area approaches to Teaching and Learning in Higher Education in the context of Quality Assurance.

During the Panel Session 1 on Study Programmes Quality & Student-Centered Learning and Teaching, Yuriy RASHKEVYCH, former Deputy Minister, Minister’s Advisor, Member of the NQA, HERE, presented his vision of “Design and approval, monitoring and periodic review of programmes according to Student-centred Learning and Teaching, NQF and HE Standards, Mobility Window”. Sabine HOIDN, TAM expert, PhD in Business Education, Doctor Habilitated in Education Sciences (especially Higher Education), Head of Student-Centred Learning Lab, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Institute of Sociology, University of St. Gallen (Switzerland) provided presentation on Student-Centered Learning and Teaching, Evaluation.

During the Panel Session 2 – “Accreditation and Quality Assessment“, Serhiy KVIT, Chairman, the National QA Agency presented “National approaches to Higher Education Quality in the context of ESG. External QA and Internal QA: 2 Dimensions of Quality under Student-Centered Learning and Teaching, Evaluation”. Moreover, to strengthen the Erasmus+ impact on the national level, the former CBHE projects provided their project results: Andrii GOZHYK, Director of the SEM Center, the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (QUAERE – Internal QA Model & Self-Assessment Mechanism); Svetlana MELNICHENKO, Vice-Rector, the Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics (C3QA – Internal QA Model & PhD QA); Iryna ZOLOTARIOVA, HERE, Professor, the Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics (EDUQAS – Internal QA Model & Cooperation with students and employers). To show the experience of Eastern partnership colleagues form Georgia, Lasha MARGISHVILI, Head of the Department of Accreditation of the Georgian QA Agency, and Irine DARCHIA, Higher Education Reform Expert, presented their vision and reality under internationalization, Bologna process and student-centered learning and teaching, evaluation as a part of QA in Higher Education.
