Ternopil Ivan Puluj National Technical University
Ternopil Ivan Puluj National Technical University (TNTU) is a higher education institution of the highest 4th level of accreditation. It was founded in 1960. The total number of students is above 9800. TNTU consists of 5 faculties (Faculty of Engineering of Machines, Buildings and Technologies, Faculty of Economics and Management, Faculty of Applied Information Technologies and Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Computer Information Systems and Software Engineering, Foreign Students Faculty), 19 science research laboratories, 2 education and science institutes (Information Systems Institute and Distance Learning Institute), 11 education centres (Lifelong Learning Centre, Regional Networking Academy CISCO, Certification Center VUE, Microsoft IT Academy, Training Center QNX Software Systems, Training Center SUN Microsystems, Business Institute СІSСО, etc.). The Science Park “Innovation and Investment Cluster of Ternopil Region” operates at TNTU. Teaching process is largely integrated into production. A number of departments’ branches function directly in the enterprises.
One of the priority directions of TNTU activities is international cooperation in the field of education and science. The university has experience in this field, in particular participating in Tempus and Erasmus+ projects, training foreign students, organizing students training abroad. TNTU is a member of the European University Association (EUA) and the "n+i" Network of French Engineering Schools. Moreover, it is a participant of Magna Charta Universitatum, the Baltic University Programme (BUP) and the International Association of Scientific and Technological University Libraries (IATUL).
