UKRAINIAN ERASMUS+ MARATHON and #ErasmusDays 2020 in Ukraine (15-17.10.20, online)

UA E Marathon visual 2From October 15 to 17, 2020, within the framework of the global initiative #ErasmusDays 2020, a number of events dedicated to the European Union’s Erasmus+ Program took place all around Ukraine. Launched as an initiative of the Erasmus+ French National Erasmus+ Agency on the 30th anniversary of Erasmus+, #ErasmusDays consists of a series of events organised all over Europe and beyond. At the core of this international celebration is a simple idea: to put the spotlight on European values, on the benefits of mobility, and on Erasmus+ projects results. Within the #ErasmusDays Programme beneficiaries, alumnus, or other actors have an opportunity to spread the word about their projects, share experience and showcase the impact of the work.

About 90 events were organized by creative teams of Higher Education Institutions, youth organizations and Erasmus+ project teams in the field of education, youth and sports.

The National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine (EU project) and ESN-Kyiv in close cooperation with the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine, Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (tbc), Embassy of France to Ukraine, the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine (tbc), the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (tbc), the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Ukraine (tbc), National Erasmus+ Agency in Italy, Info Centre for Erasmus+ Youth and European Solidarity Corps in Ukraine, EURODESK-Ukraine, eTwinning Ukraine with active participation of Ukrainian Universities, youth and other organisations performed the online “Ukrainian Erasmus+ Marathon” on 15-17 October 2020.

The main idea is to cover and promote Erasmus+, its opportunities for individuals and organisations in education and youth spheres, results in Ukraine, successful stories, existed experience and good practice. “Ukrainian Erasmus+ Marathon” will run for 3 days, but the main activity will be on 17 October 2020 via Facebook event and will consist of 6 hours of recorded welcome-videos, online presentation, recorded interviews and recorded music concert from different Erasmus+ Programme actors all over Ukraine and beyond (students, graduates, HEIs staff, international relation offices, teenagers with parents, youth organisations, NGOs, representatives of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building, Jean Monnet projects and Erasmus+ Orchestra).

During the 3-day Ukrainian Erasmus + Marathon, participants learned about #ErasmusDays events throughout Ukraine, took an active part in the quiz for the best Erasmus+ photo, and joined the 6-hour marathon with opportunities and success stories in the Erasmus + Program.

During the 3rd day of the Marathon, Ambassador Matti Maasikas, Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, Belen Enciso, Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Ministry of Youth and Sport of Ukraine, Embassy of France to Ukraine, National Erasmus+ Agency in Italy, ESN-Kyiv, Info Centre for Erasmus+ Youth and European Solidarity Corps in Ukraine, Support office for eTwinning in Ukraine joined the event with recorded welcome videos.

Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, NEO – Ukraine Coordinator, provided online presentation of the EU-funded Programme Erasmus+ via the official Facebook page.

After the Erasmus+ Programme presentation, NEO – Ukraine team started the video posting of recorded interviews with the participants of the Erasmus+ individual and organisational opportunities.

At the end of the Marathon, all participants got the opportunity to join the online music concert from students of the Erasmus+ Orchestra, Director/Opera Conductor – Maestro Elio Orciuolo with Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music and Conservatorio di Musica “Nino Rota” di Monopoli (Italy) participated in Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility projects.
