SHEI "Ukraine Sate University of Chemical Technology" is the only specialized multidisciplinary powerful state university, which since 1930 has prepared more than 50,000 highly skilled professionals.

Main fields of activities:

Preparation for bachelor and master’s degrees is carried out at 7 faculties in 21 directions and 31 specialties on full-time and part-time educational forms. Education is carried out at 37 departments by more than 480 teachers, among them 60 doctors of sciences, professors and 200 candidates of sciences.

Training of higher qualification personnel (candidates and doctors of sciences). Four Academic Councils are working in the University, accepting doctoral thesis in 10 specialties.

Implementation of fundamental and applied research works. The most known scientific schools are Chemistry and Technology of New Enamels, Glasses, Ceramics and Other Silicate Materials; Electrochemistry and its Application in Different Industries; Theory of Electrochemical Processes at Metal Electrodeposition Accounting the Structure and Composition of Near-Electrode Area; Scientific Bases of Synthesis and Reactivity of Nitrogen- and Sulfur-Containing Organic Bioregulators; Synthesis and Investigation of Organic, Polymeric, and Composition Materials.

Second higher education in all basic specialties.

The University includes two research institutes and ten research laboratories.

Research institute of Galvanochemistry provides organizational development of electrochemical science, creation and implementation of competitive technologies and galvanic corrosion protection. Research institutes of Galvanochemistry operates the measuring laboratory of quality control of technological environment and wastewater of electroplating and metal industries.

Research institutes of Galvanochemistry conducts fundamental research in electrochemistry and establishes scientific principles of new advanced high performance technologies of applying various electroplatings with metals, alloys and nanocomposites, that can be used in enterprises of aerospace, mechanical engineering, chemical industries, and in the military-industrial complex of Ukraine and other countries.

Research institute of Biotechnology, which includes Research Laboratory of Biologically Active Substances, coordinates and improves the efficiency of research in the field of processing plant material to obtain pharmaceuticals, contaminants of food and health care supplies, growth stimulants and plant protection products.

Research laboratory of Chemistry and Technology of Natural Polymers has been developing bioactive substances for food, perfumery and medical industries; waste recycling of plant and animal origin.

Research laboratory of Bioelectrochemistry investigates the electrical properties of plants and their impact on the natural and technogenic factors.

Problem Research Laboratory of Synthetic Products and Polymers has been working in the catalytic synthesis of organic compounds and development of composite materials with improved characteristics.

Research laboratory of Plasma-Chemical Processes has been plasma treating surfaces of various materials and products; developing methods of synthesis and production of nanodispersive metal oxide materials using plasma; processing of gold- and silver-containing materials; recycling and pesticides.

Research laboratory of Chemistry and Technology of Powder Materials solves actual problems of nano- and fine-grained powder materials, develops technologies of finely compounds for various special ceramics.

Research laboratory of Chemical Current Sources conducts research, development and optimization of chemical current sources in various electrochemical systems, including domestic raw materials, using methods of nondestructive testing of raw materials and final product; synthesizes high-performance electrode materials and electrolytes; develops new technologies and construction systems of new generation chemical current sources, with specific characteristics several times higher than traditional ones.

Research laboratories of Battery Systems solves the problem of battery industry, explores the processes that occur in some batteries and electrodes, develops new types of battery systems.

Regional Research laboratory of Energoecology provides environmental control over the content of toxic substances in products of combustion of fossil fuels, develops preserving fuel appliances and technology of air defense in industry.

Research laboratory of Metrological Ecological Environment Control was certified for measurements in the field of metrological control. It performs scientific research in the field of metrology, environmental control and monitoring; its project work is related to inventory and development of standards for maximum allowable discharges and emissions.

Oil Testing Laboratory performs conformity assessment and defines quality in the field of test gasoline, gasoline alternative, bio diesel, heating fuel, fuel oil, motor oil, solvents, coolants, waste oil for suppliers and consumers of petroleum products.
