Kharkiv State University of Food Technology and Trade is a powerful educational and research center of the European level. It is one of the leading Ukrainian institutions training specialists for restaurant business, hospitality and tourism, commerce, food production and trade, customs, fiscal and economic services, financial institutions.

Quality training of highly competitive specialists is provided by 460 teachers, 70% of whom are doctors of science, academics, professors, and associate professors. Among them are the State Prize winners, veteran educators and acclaimed scholars, leading figures in science and technology.

Kharkiv State University of Food Technology and Trade actively develops the promising areas of human nutrition of the twenty-first century. It has more than 20 academic schools. Long years of research work headed by Oleksandr Cherevko, the rector of Kharkiv State University of Food Technology and Trade, were recognized by two State Prizes of Ukraine in Science and Technology in 2006 and 2012 received by 10 university scholars. Each year the university inventors receive 30 patents for inventions.

The students acquire higher education at five faculties and the Educational and Research Institute of Food Technology and Business of Kharkiv State University of Food Technology and Trade. The institution provides training in education and skill levels of Bachelor, Specialist, and Master in 11 areas of expertise in 21 specialties. The people wishing to enter higher education institutions may study at the preparatory departments for the Ukrainian and foreign citizens. University graduates can achieve a degree through programs at the University’s Institute of Postgraduate Business Education.

The University has a wide network of international ties with more than 60 universities and foundations in the USA, Germany, France, Spain, Poland, Romania, Russia and other countries. Every year, the faculty and students participate in international culinary competitions, exhibitions, and joint research projects with foreign colleagues.

For its contribution to the development of the national economy and a significant contribution to the creation of the reputable international image of Ukraine, the University was awarded a diploma and a nominee’s commemorative medal of "Golden Book of Ukrainian Elite" almanac. It is the winner of the rating of "100 best companies of Ukraine" in the "Higher Education" nomination. The University has the status of the Best National Manufacturer of Goods and is awarded the Golden Symbol in the "Innovative Development" nomination.

Main fields of activities:

The university’s main activities are:
- training (according to the state order and contract commitments) of highly qualified specialists of educational and qualification levels of bachelor, specialist, master for trade, food industry, restaurant business; food industry machines and equipment manufacturing enterprises; accounting, economic, fiscal and financial services; customs services; hotel and restaurant business; tourism;
- training and attestation of scientific and pedagogic staff;
- scientific research work in the development of new technologies, machines, apparatuses, the improvement of methods of economic management;
- the implementation of educational innovations, information technologies, etc.

Around 6000 students including 500 international students are trained at the university at present. The university has 5 faculties, the educational and scientific institute of food technologies and business, the institute of post graduate business education, 30 departments, 18 scientific research laboratories. The university has 3 specialized Scientific councils with the right to administer the defense of PhD and Doctor theses.

Information about the intended project:

We are opened for any projects in appropriate areas. Main directions that our university is ready to conduct and realize:

Previous international experience:

KSUFTT as project partner have specific experience in preparation its part of project work (work package) in different consortium project proposals within EC FP7 2007-2014, particularly in 2012 the University participated in EU Programme“FP7 PEOPLE” with the project “NUTritional LABeling Study in Black Sea Region Countries” (318946, NUTRILAB).

Oct 2012 KSUFTT has been validated by EC Research Executive Agency (REA) under its own Participant Identification Code (PIC) number.

The University is a member of several international associations, in particular:

Federation of Organic Movement of Ukraine, which is part of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM);
