Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University (TNPU) is one of the leading centers of higher pedagogical education in Ukraine, cultural center of Ternopil.

According to the results of Ukrainian higher education institutions consolidated rating TNPU ranks the second among pedagogical universities. It has received International Academic Popularity and Quality Rating “Zolota Fortuna” laureate diplomas.

During its functioning the university has prepared more than 65 000 specialists for general secondary, professional, higher education institutions. Thousands of our graduates became recognized professionals and experts in the field of education, researchers, known both in Ukraine and abroad. Many of them are professors at Ukrainian higher education institutions, government officials, public figures.

Scientific activities at the University are subjected to the formation of innovative science and education area developed in terms of own resources and appropriate conditions for scientific and educational, scientific and technical, technological researches that are aimed to solve global and regional problems.

We are pleased to state that university has evolved as research and study, science and education center of Ukraine, a platform of international and all-Ukrainian research conferences, congresses, etc., a place of 5 specialized academic councils that award Doctor of Sciences degrees, a testing ground for many Ukrainian higher education know-how.

Main fields of activities:

International mobility activities from or to Partner Countries in the fields of higher education and youth.

Research at TNPU covers a very broad spectrum of disciplines and scientific fields. Among them:

-Educational and psychological research at TNPU is of the highest national standard. The most important topics relate to Curriculum development, processes of learning and skill acquisition, gender-oriented education, inclusive classroom, new methodological approach and novel trends in teacher training.

-Environmental biochemistry is of the highest national and international standard and is serves as a strong base for research in other disciplines such as toxicology, ecology, animal biology and chemistry.

-Energy. The challenge is to find commercially viable source of renewable energy. Our researchers work with biofuels and have been reaching some prominent results.

-Biotechnology and Agriculture. Our faculties emphasized on practice of breeding, growing, reproducing and caring for plants.

Research in chemistry at TNPU is driven by the close collaboration between chemists, biologists and technics. It focuses on the different aspects of drug innovation as well as fuel improvement.

-In the field of sport and physical education, TNPU conducts leading-edge research, with a special focus on motility, psychological or social dimensions of sport, physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

-In social science, TNPU focuses on management associated with new technologies and innovation, with extensions in history of science and technology.

-Information technology. The main purpose of this field of study is to develop an understanding of information systems, programming languages, information management and artificial intelligence, and the ability to apply them to solve problems.

Previous international experience:

Many partnerships exist at the university. Mobility and Dual Diploma programs are implemented.

University staff executed two projects within Tempus Projects: TEMPUS ELITE – “Education for Leadership, Intelligence and Talent Encouraging” (02.12.2013 - 31.12.2017) and CuQ Project “Cross-media and Quality Journalism” with partners from Germany, Austria, Romania, Moldova and Ukraine. Upon completion of the projects, modern Center of Leadership and Media studio were created on the basis of the university.

Pre-service Training project (“New Generation School Teacher”) initiated by the British Council Ukraine and Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine aims at improving EFL teacher training system and raising standards of English teaching in schools and universities.
