Mariupol State University is a prestigious higher education establishment widely known not only in Ukraine but abroad as well, a center for training of highly qualified personnel which plays an important role in development of effective cooperation between Ukraine and foreign states in the field of education, science and culture.

University consists of 5 faculties and 21 departments with 250 highly qualified teachers working at their premises. Teaching staff includes Candidates and Doctors of Science from MSU and other prestigious universities of Ukraine as well as leading scientists and practitioners from foreign countries.

University trains Bachelors and Masters. Center for Pre-university Training and Student Engagement, which provides training process at the preparatory department.

Today, approximately 3200 students are studying at Mariupol State University with 300 foreign students from China, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Nigeria, Cameroon, Guinea and other countries.

A strategic task for the development of university is to deepen integration into the European and world research and education system which ensures a high quality of education services under international standards. University has signed more than 100 cooperation agreements with foreign partners. More than 1000 teachers, postgraduate students, Bachelor and Master students of MSU took part in international education, scientific and cultural programs abroad.

Mariupol State University is frequently visited by official foreign delegations headed by presidents, prime ministers, governors and mayors of cities, rectors of leading universities, famous scholars, public persons and foreign diplomats. They conduct public lectures and meetings with students and teachers where topical issues in the field of education, science, law, economics and international relations are being discussed.

Thanks to the knowledge acquired and practical skills MSU graduates are highly competitive employees, also in Europe and USA. Approximately 1000 graduates successfully work and study abroad in more than 30 countries of the world.

Partnership for cooperation

Mariupol State University is endeavoring to extend international contacts and participate in international projects. The University is poised to give a big boost to project proposals aimed at: sharing experience, developing new research tools and methods, applying new technologies to education (including remote-learning technologies), fostering multilateral academic exchange, and the elaborating a framework for long-term cooperation in:

  • Problems of information policy and social engineering
  • History and Archeology
  • Human rights
  • Sustainable Development
  • Cultural Heritage
  • Pre-school Education

It is important for Mariupol State University to establish joint units with authoritative international organizations and partner universities.

We are seeking partners to participate in projects within the framework of Erasmus+ (KA1 and KA2), Jean Monnet, Horizon Europe, and other EU programs.

Participation in international projects

One of the key priorities of the activities of Mariupol State University are constantly extending international ties. By developing contacts with international partners already existing and establishing new ones, MSU performs a number of complex tasks related to education and methodical, and education and research activities, building the capacity of staff, developing facilities and equipment of the university. The aforementioned efforts are a hallmark of university’s activities, the advantages of national system of higher education that promote the image of Ukraine, improves the quality of training professionals and level of teaching.

During the years of its existence, MSU has developed its own model of international activities that provides for a complex cooperation with ministries of foreign affairs, diplomatic representations, regional administrations, city councils, leading universities, funds, government and non-government organizations of foreign countries.

The interest of foreign partners in the activities of Mariupol State University proves the successful efforts aimed at securing high-quality training for students, extension of educational, research and cultural ties and establishing the image of the university as a forward-looking, authoritative and dynamically developing higher education institution. University is a member of a number of international organizations such as European Public Law Organization, Mediterranean Universities Network, Associations of Rectors of Pedagogical Universities in Europe.

The university actively participated in international educational projects such as Erasmus +, Tempus, NEOHEL. Particular attention should be paid to participation in such projects:

Maruipol State University has signed a number of cooperation agreements with universities in such countries as Greece, Cyprus, Italy, Great Britain, France, Germany, Slovakia, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, Serbia and international organizations such as the European Association of Universities , European Chamber of Arbitration, European Public Law Organization, Mediterranean Universities Network, Magellan Project, United Nations Development Program in Ukraine.
