Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University
Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University is the oldest and the most powerful higher educational institution of Zhytomyr region.
Structurally the University comprises 3 Institutes, 5 Faculties and the Centre of Pre-University Preparation and Postgraduate Education. About 8 thousand students are currently studying at our University.
Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University has the 4th highest level of accreditation and trains students of all educational-proficiency levels – Bachelor, Specialist and Master. Postgraduate and doctorate studies are available with more than 200 postgraduate and doctorate students currently conducting their research.
About 8 000 students are trained in 24 specialties. Among them there are publishing and editing, philology (Ukrainian, Russian, English and German), translation, preschool education, primary education, choreography, musical art, history, mathematics, physics, computer sciences, chemistry, biology, social pedagogy, psychology (practical and social), management, marketing, physical education, ecology and environmental protection.
As a structural unit University is engaged in joint work with the University of Warsaw and universities of Great Volyn, has around 40 cooperation agreements with university centres all over the world.
ZhDU is interested in cooperation projects in the fields of multicultural education, gender education, inclusive education, synergetics in education, economics and management, ecology (wastewater treatment), liquid crystal, language strategies (improvement of the European languages proficiency level), European studies, Slavic studies, postcolonial literary studies, translation for European languages, studying of individuals' readiness for activities in the conditions of Antarctic regions, psycholinguistics, dialectology.
We look forward to sharing experiences, developing new research tools and methods, improving the learning process by new technologies, establishing academic exchanges and developing a long-term basis for cooperation as well as to developing new Master and PhD programmes, developing of academic mobility and implementing new curriculum.
