Development of aquaculture and fisheries education for green deal in Armenia and Ukraine: from education to ecology
Short description:
Project goals: to decrease the negative impact of aquaculture and fishery industry on the environment in Armenia and Ukraine through the designing and development of Master’s degree programs in aquaculture and fisheries, that is benchmarked to high-quality similar programs in Europe and responsive to national and regional needs, and strengthening the university-enterprise-research cooperation (concept “from education to ecology”).
Project objectives:
− Curricula designing and development;
− Establishment of labs with modern equipment;
− Training and education of the staff on how to operate in the new established laboratories;
− Designing/development of modules for the new designed Curricula;
− To create and develop teaching and learning materials according to newly developed modules and
Curricula;
− Establishment of a sustainable network for joint activities in aquaculture and fisheries;
− To set the groundwork among participating universities for future implementation of Joint/Double Master Degree education in aquaculture and fishery.
Activities:
− Creation and development of Master’s degree study programs with allsupporting materials;
− Establishment of laboratories;
− Training of teaching and non-teaching staff of Armenia and Ukraine.
Expected results:
1. Developed LOs, curricula and modules in aquaculture and fishery Master’s Degree in line with
Bologna process;
2. Trained teaching staff on new modules, interactive and practice-based teaching methods and tools;
3. Trained teaching and non-teaching staff on how to operate in the laboratories;
4. Laboratories on aquaculture and fishery at AM and UKR universities;
5. Approved and accredited Master’s Degree programs by the state authorities in AM and UKR;
6. Teaching and learning materials;
7. Piloted/started new Master’s Degree program;
8. Bases for Joint/Double Master Degree programs between participating universities;
9. Sustainable network of the universities and labour market.
