26th session of the Council of Europe Standing Conference of Ministers of Education (28-29.09.2023, Strasbourg)

On 28-29 September 2023, the 26th session of the Council of Europe Standing Conference of Ministers of Education held in Strasbourg, France. Mychailo WYNNYCKYJ, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, HERE team member, joined the event. 

The main themes of the event were the renewal of education’s civic mission, education in times of emergency and crisis, and harnessing the potential of digital transformation in education.

46 national delegations expressed support for Ukraine and stressed that today the Armed Forces of Ukraine are defending not only our country, but also Europe.

During his speech, Mychailo WYNNYCKYJ noted that Ukraine supports the creation of the Citizenship Education Framework Convention aimed to promote education for democracy in schools, higher education institutions and communities. After all, such efforts are not just a positive step in the transformation of education, but in fact a matter of survival of European values, which we all strongly support. Speaker also gave thanks the Steering Committee for Education for the statement on the educational consequences of the russian federation’s aggression against Ukraine, that was adopted unanimously at the 1st plenary meeting of the Committee on 15-17 March 2022.
