Vinnytsia, Ukraine, Hosts EU Integration Conference (30.08.24, Vinnytsia)

Vinnytsia became a hub for EU-Ukraine cooperation on August 30th. A conference brought together key players to explore the path forward for Ukraine’s integration into the European Union. European partners and Ukrainian delegates from various regions gathered to discuss the country’s progress towards EU through educational institutions and VET providers.

Co-organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine by Folkuniversitetet, European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training (EVBB)Vinnytsia Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi State Pedagogical University, VITE SUTE, the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, and Rinova, the event gathered over 90 participants. Welcoming remarks were shared by regional officials, including:

– Ihor Ivasiuk, Deputy Head of the Vinnytsia Regional Council
– Halyna Yakubovych, Deputy Vinnytsia Mayor
– Andrii Kavunets, Deputy Head of the Regional Military Administration for Digital Development
– Nataliia Lazarenko, Rector of Vinnytsia State Pedagogical University
– Nataliia Zamkova, Director of Vinnytsia Institute of Trade and Economics SUTE, Head of the Standing Committee of the Regional Council.

✨ Key Highlights:

Theodor Grassos, Secretary General of EVBB, discussed the role of the European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training in supporting Ukrainian institutions.
Svitlana Shytikova, National Erasmus+ Office, provided an overview of Erasmus+ opportunities for Ukraine.
Ali Rashidi, Folkuniversitetet, shared successful EU project collaborations between Ukrainian institutions and European partners, including the creation of EU project groups in Vinnytsia to drive future initiatives.
Dr. Richard Parkes, Rinova, spoke on the transformative power of vocational education in driving economic growth and aligning with labor market needs.

The UkrainEU Conference provided valuable insights, sparked dynamic panel discussions, and reinforced the importance of collaboration for Ukraine’s future in the EU.
