Training for educators and trainers within the TEAM-EU-UA project in a blended format (17-18.10.2025, Kyiv)
On October 17, 2025, the Kyiv Lyceum “Dominanta” hosted a training for target groups as part of the “Development of Team Spirit for the Implementation and Incorporation of EU Values in Ukraine (TEAM-EU-UA)” project, co-funded by the European Union.
The event consisted of two parts – theoretical and practical.
In the theoretical part, participants learned about the activities of partner organizations (the Ukrainian Student Sports Federation), discussed ways to implement European values in education and sports, and took part in a training session on methods and approaches to organizing sports events for children.
The training covered issues such as adapting exercises and games and creating a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
The practical part included activities in a large sports hall: joint exercises led by Yevheniia Gusachenko, a master class in orienteering “Labyrinth” by Maksym Balys, and a club led by Mykola Holoborodko.
The event opened with welcoming remarks by Roman Greba, president of the Ukrainian Student Sports Federation; Lena Zernik, director of the Ukrainian Student Sports Federation; and Yaroslav Galan, project manager and head of the NGO “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE”; Milos Zirika, representative of the European School Sports Federation; Oleksandr Tomenko, Doctor of Science in Physical Education and Sports, professor at Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko; Roman Banak and Olena Balja, deputy directors for educational work at the Dominanta Lyceum; Vadym Stetsenko, Secretary General of the Ukrainian Student Sports Federation; and Serhii Antropov, Head of the Student Sports Department of the Ukrainian Mass Sports Agency, who joined the meeting online.
Participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the Lyceum’s facilities, the EcoLand laboratory, the interactive shooting range, as well as modeling and programming clubs.
The event was attended by over 100 participants in total – teachers, physical education specialists, coaches, scientists, and representatives of educational institutions from various regions of Ukraine.
As part of the event, an information plaque “We cooperate with TEAM-EU-UA” was ceremoniously presented to the acting director of the Dominanta Lyceum as a symbol of partnership and support for the project’s initiatives.
All participants in the event will receive certificates from the Ukrainian Student Sports Federation confirming their participation in the training and acquisition of new knowledge on the implementation of inclusive methods in physical education.
The event was an important step in the implementation of the TEAM-EU-UA project, which aims to develop team spirit, promote European values through sport and education, and create an inclusive environment for every child in Ukraine.
