Introductory speech at the official launch of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module project Interdisciplinary Approach to Innovative Methods of Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving for Sustainable Development (SYNERGY) (29.10.2025, online)

On October 29, 2025, the team from the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine joined the official opening ceremony of the international Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project “Interdisciplinary Approach to Innovative Methods of Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving for Sustainable Development” (SYNERGY), hosted by Lviv Polytechnic National University in an online format.

The project will be implemented during 2025–2028 by the Department of Electronic Engineering of the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies and Electronic Engineering, and the Department of Chemical Engineering of the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technologies of Lviv Polytechnic. Its aim is to establish an interdisciplinary educational and research platform integrating European approaches to energy efficiency, energy saving, and sustainable development into the Ukrainian higher education system.

During the opening ceremony, representatives of the university administration, project coordinators and partners, as well as local authorities and energy sector representatives delivered welcoming speeches.

During her speech, Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine, congratulated the project team on the official launch of the initiative, expressed appreciation for their commitment to the values of the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, and emphasised the importance of cooperation between the university, local authorities, and industrial partners in developing innovative approaches to Ukraine’s energy resilience and green transition. She also highlighted the significance of actively engaging students and young researchers in the project’s implementation, as they are shaping Ukraine’s future based on the principles of sustainable development and European educational standards.

The SYNERGY project will run for three years and will contribute to the creation of new educational modules, increase awareness in the field of energy efficiency, strengthen the research potential of Lviv Polytechnic, and enhance international cooperation within the framework of the EU’s Erasmus+ Programme.
