International webinar and master class as part of the TEAM-EU-UA project (04.04.2026, village of Palianytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast)
April 4, 2026, an international event took place in the village of Palianytsia “Bukovel” (Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast) as part of the project “Development of Team Spirit for the Implementation and Incorporation of EU Values in Ukraine” (TEAM-EU-UA), co-funded by the European Union. The event was aimed at physical education teachers, educators, students, researchers, and pedagogues, bringing together the professional community to discuss the development of inclusive sports, team spirit, and the implementation of European values.
The event program consisted of two parts: a webinar for educators working with youth, during which each partner gave a short presentation on the topic “Your role in TEAM-EU-UA”, and an outdoor master class: planning and conducting sports and health classes for schoolchildren (displaced children) based on team spirit.
The webinar took place in a hybrid format and began with a presentation of the project, its significance, key initiatives, and developed materials. The event was opened by the project coordinator, head of the NGO “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORTS. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE”, PhD in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor Iaroslav Galan. In his speech, he outlined the main directions of the project’s implementation and emphasized the importance of integrating European values through sports activities and non-formal education. Special attention was given to the interactive game tools developed within the project, which Yaroslav Galan demonstrated to the participants. In particular, the following were presented: the board game “Green Path Through the European Union”, the maze game “Waste Sorting”, as well as motivational videos that promote environmental awareness, the development of teamwork, and the promotion of European values among children and youth.
Liliana Hutsulyak, an administrative staff member of the organization, conducted a survey among event participants regarding the role and significance of European Union values. The survey results are important for assessing participants’ level of awareness and will contribute to the further effective promotion of European values as part of the project’s implementation.
International and national project partners also gave presentations. Instytut Rozwoju Sportu i Edukacji (Poland) was represented by Piotr Kociszewski, who shared his experience in organizing sports and educational initiatives and discussed the institution’s role in implementing the project.

A representative of Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A. S. Makarenko, Doctor of Science in Physical Education and Sports, Professor Oleksandr Tomenko, presented the developed educational programs aimed at the practical implementation of inclusive and health-promoting sports. In his presentation, he described in detail the content and potential applications of educational programs, emphasizing their importance for training specialists and for use in working with children, particularly internally displaced persons and refugee children.
A separate presentation was given by Olga Kondruk, a primary school teacher at Chernivtsi Lyceum No. 17 “Uspikh”, a certified teacher of the highest category, and a senior teacher. She shared her practical experience working with children, highlighting current conditions, effective mechanisms, and pedagogical tools that facilitate their successful adaptation and engagement in educational and sports activities.
The event concluded with an outdoor master class, which took place in the picturesque Ukrainian Carpathians. It was led by Andriy Moldovan, PhD in Pedagogy, Associate Professor, and invited expert. During the practical session, he demonstrated methods for planning and conducting sports and health activities for schoolchildren, particularly internally displaced children, and also engaged project partners in active participation in team exercises.
These activities effectively promote children’s social integration, the development of team spirit, emotional well-being, and the formation of a healthy lifestyle, and can be adapted to various educational and cultural contexts.
The event was attended by over 70 participants in a mixed format, including physical education teachers, representatives of sports organizations, students, and volunteers.
