Erasmus+ GREENO2 Project Concludes with Strong Results: TSNUK Leads Communication and Dissemination and Strengthens the European Partnership
The Erasmus+ KA220-HED project GREENO2 – Green Roofs in higher education institutions as sustainable cEnters for research, participation, ENvironmental consciousness and O2 generation (Grant Agreement 2023-1-IT02-KA220-HED-000156281) has successfully reached its conclusion, delivering a complete set of digital tools to promote sustainable practices in higher education institutions across six European countries: Italy, Greece, Spain, Romania, Poland and Ukraine.
The project’s final deliverable, the Operational Guide Report, brings together all outputs produced by the consortium – the Handbook, the MOOC, the mobile application and the AI-PANC digital support hub, now fully available in all six partner languages, including Ukrainian, ensuring that students, academics and professionals across the partnership can access and apply them without barriers.
Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (TSNUK) played a full and active role in achieving these results, successfully leading Work Package 4, GREEN-O2 Communication, Dissemination and Networking, and making a strong contribution to the project’s overall communication and dissemination strategy. TSNUK also contributed to the development of the Handbook and MOOC content and delivered complete, high-quality Ukrainian-language versions of GREENO2 tools on schedule.
The quality of these efforts was confirmed by INDIRE, the Italian National Erasmus+ Agency, which, following its analysis of the interim report, rated the project “very good,” the highest possible rating, and particularly praised its communication and dissemination activities, as well as the strong collaboration and synergy among the partners.
This achievement carries particular value given the demanding circumstances TSNUK has continued to operate under throughout the project. Its team’s steady engagement and professionalism strengthened the partnership as a whole, and stand as a genuine demonstration of the quality and resilience of Ukraineʼs academic community within European cooperation in higher education, as recognised by the Erasmus+ GREENO2 consortium as a whole.

Even though the project has now formally concluded, we are keen to keep our channels of contact and communication open with TSNUK in the months ahead – cooperation of this kind is not something that should end with a grant agreement. The GREENO2 consortium is pleased to share this result with the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine as a European success story to which TSNUK contributed significantly, and hopes it may stand as a positive example of what Ukrainian higher education institutions continue to achieve on the European stage, with warm wishes for peace and continued collaboration ahead.
Background Information
“Green Roofs in Higher Education Institutions as Sustainable cEntres for Research, Participation, ENvironmental Consciousness and O2 Generation” (GREENO2) (Grant Agreement No. 2023-1-IT02-KA220-HED-000156281) is an EU-funded project implemented in 2023–2026, bringing together eight European partners from six countries.
The project aimed to improve and develop education on climate change, promote environmental education, foster environmental awareness, and support effective strategic communication on current environmental issues. These activities in Ukraine were carried out by Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (TSNUK), in particular by the Educational and Scientific Institute of Journalism, which, in addition to implementing the project tasks, coordinated one of the project’s key areas – Work Package 4 “Communication, Dissemination and GREENO2 Network”.
The overall coordination of the GREENO2 project was carried out by the University of Tuscia (Italy).
