EUA webinar series – Toward Tirana 2024, the Bologna Process and developments in the EHEA (12.12.2023-11.06.2024, online)
The National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine team participated in the EUA series of webinars “Toward Tirana 2024, the Bologna Process and Developments in the EHEA”, which took place from December 2023 to June 2024. The webinar series covered a wide range of topics relevant to higher education institutions and stakeholders across Europe. Below is a summary of each webinar in the series:
Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, coordinator of the National Erasmus+ office – Ukraine, joined the webinar chat and drew attention to the significant impact of Erasmus+ projects on the development of higher education in Ukraine. In addition, information on the state of higher education, the development of the higher education system, recognition mechanisms, etc. was disseminated to international partners.

Measuring and Enhancing Student Mobilities
Date: 12 December 2023, 14:00-15:00 CET
The first webinar provided an introduction to student mobility within the context of the Bologna Process. It highlighted the historical and evolving role of mobility, discussing diverse forms such as physical exchanges, virtual and hybrid modes, and short-term to full degree mobilities. The session explored why the traditional mobility benchmark may need updating and considered whether virtual mobility represents a true mobile experience.

Unpacking Recognition: From the Basics to Automatic Recognition

The second webinar provided an overview of key documents and developments in the field of academic recognition, from the 1997 Lisbon Recognition Convention to recent advancements such as the 2019 Global Recognition Convention. It examined the future of automatic recognition and the impact of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and micro-credentials.

The fifth webinar provided an overview of fundamental values such as academic freedom, integrity, and institutional autonomy. It discussed how these values are being pressured in various European countries and the role of higher education institutions in upholding these principles.

The final webinar introduced the monitoring framework of the Bologna Process, presenting key findings from the most recent monitoring cycle. It featured presentations on EHEA key commitments and credit mobility, drawing conclusions for the next round of the Bologna Process.
