European Degree Forum 2025 (20-21.11.2025, hybrid format)
On 20–21 November 2025, the first edition of the European Degree Forum is taking place in Florence, Italy. The event is organised by the European Commission in cooperation with the Florence School of Transnational Governance of the European University Institute.
This high-level forum brings together stakeholders from across Europe’s higher education landscape to:
- discuss the value and impact of a joint European degree and label;
- celebrate achievements made so far in joint programme cooperation;
- define next steps toward a common European framework for joint degrees.
The agenda includes plenary sessions, high-level keynotes, panel discussions, and technical sessions aimed at exploring key challenges and policy solutions.
Key topics of the Forum include:
- successful examples of joint programmes aligned with the European Degree label criteria;
- policy and practical solutions to remove remaining barriers;
- strategies to attract and retain talent in European higher education;
- ensuring inclusiveness and accessibility in cross-border education;
- outlining next steps, including the Florence Pledge, a joint commitment from actors in the higher education sector ahead of the next Forum.
