Event “LET’S GO WITH EU_LEAD” at Lviv Polytechnic National University during the ErasmusDays-2023 within the framework of the Erasmus+ project (12.10.2023, online)
On 12.10.2023, Lviv Polytechnic National University hosted the event “LET’S GO WITH EU_LEAD” within the framework of the European Union Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project “European Union Global Responsible Leadership: Climate Change, Environmental Protection and Humanitarian Aid” (EU_LEAD) during #ErasmusDays 2023. The purpose of the event was the smart opening of the project and its promotion, exchange of experience and of the best practices in the implementation of European studies in higher education institutions of Ukraine and EU member states.
The event was organised by the EU_LEAD project team of Lviv Polytechnic National University with the participation of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (Poland), and with the support of the Directorate for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, the Ukrainian Association of European Studies, Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University, and the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine.
The event was attended by more than 90 people (teachers, students, administrators) from various universities in Ukraine and Poland, including representatives of numerous Jean Monnet projects.
Natalia CHUKHRAI (Vice-Rector, Lviv Polytechnic National University), Pawel WIELGOSZ (Vice-Rector, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn), Serhiy SHKABKO (State Expert on European Integration, Directorate for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine), and Petro KRAINYK (Jean Monnet expert at the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine) took part in the opening ceremony.
During the event, presentations were made by Oleh TSEBENKO (Vice Director of the Institute of Humanities and Social Science, Lviv Polytechnic National University), Olha IVASECHKO (Associate Professor, Lviv Polytechnic National University), Oksana HOLOVKO-HAVRYSHEVA (Head of the Ukrainian Association of European Studies and the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence of the West Ukrainian Research Centre for European Studies at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Associate Professor of the Department of European Law at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv), as well as Nina KYRYLENKO (Leading Specialist of the International Relations Department of the State University of Zhytomyr Polytechnic, Coordinator of INTEUAS, UAMigrEU and EUEPU projects). Teresa ASTRAMOWICZ-LAKE (Professor at the Institute of Political Science, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn) and Yulia VAYDA (Master of International Relations at Lviv Polytechnic National University, Community Manager of the European Youth Ambassadors in Ukraine initiative) also presented the features of the EU_LEAD project. The event was moderated by Yaryna TURCHYN, Director of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, Lviv Polytechnic National University, EU_LEAD Project Manager. Numerous videos about the project prepared by Lviv Polytechnic students (Bohdan MIRINCHYK, Romanna HASYN, Mykhailo KASYANCHUK) were also shown during the opening ceremony.
Speakers focused on such topical issues as the importance of implementing Jean Monnet projects for Ukraine’s European integration and the formation of the European identity of Ukrainian youth; possible ways to synergise Erasmus+ projects, strengthening their interdisciplinarity and transnationality.
During the event, the participants learned about the experience and peculiarities of implementing Jean Monnet projects at Lviv Polytechnic National University, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, and Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University and outlined prospects for further cooperation.
