Handbooks for Youthpass and recognition

A publication titled “Valued by You, Valued by Others” is available — a practical handbook designed to support the implementation of Youthpass and enhance the recognition of youth work and non-formal learning.

Authored by Anita Silva, Darko Markovic, and Paul Kloosterman, the handbook provides insights, tools, and strategies to guide learning reflection and the documentation of competences acquired through non-formal education.

The publication focuses on two key contexts where Youthpass holders often need to present their learning outcomes:

  • in job applications, and
  • in formal education and validation processes.

Before learning outcomes can be communicated effectively, they must be carefully collected and meaningfully documented. Therefore, the handbook places special emphasis on reflection as a central part of the Youthpass process.

Completing a Youthpass certificate is not just about recognition — it’s an educational journey that promotes self-awareness, confidence, and motivation to continue learning. At the same time, it supports young people in presenting their competences clearly to others, whether for employment or academic credit.
