Implementation of EU Erasmus+ Jean Monnet projects: from first steps to reporting – aspects of implementation during martial law and institutional regulations (25.03.2025, online)
On 25 March, 2025, the Training “Implementation of EU Erasmus+ Jean Monnet projects: from first steps to reporting – aspects of implementation during martial law and institutional regulations” was held. The training was organised by the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine (EU funded project).
More than 70 project team participants – newcomers to Jean Monnet projects – representatives of higher education institutions of Ukraine from Kyiv and other cities of Ukraine participated in the event.
The event was opened by Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, PhD in Pedagogy, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, who in her speech noted the importance of understanding the principles and approaches in the implementation of Jean Monnet projects already at the stage of preparing applications, therefore this event is useful both for newcomers and for those who are preparing applications for the Call of Proposals. The speaker also drew attention to the challenges that arise when implementing international technical assistance projects during martial law, and also spoke about other opportunities of the EU Erasmus+ Programme for Ukraine.
During the event, Petro KRAINIK, Manager of NEO – Ukraine, made a presentation and focused the participants’ attention on such issues as: basic documents for project implementation, regulatory documents under martial law, first steps and institutionalization of the project, current activities within the project, visualization and dissemination of results etc.
Zhanna TALANOVA, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Deputy Coordinator of NEO – Ukraine; Manager of Analytical Work and the National Team of Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE team) revealed the issues of ensuring quality, sustainability of results and the project as a whole, developing a sustainability plan as an important component of the project’s viability after the end of the funding period, emphasized the importance of project results during the negotiation process regarding Ukraine’s achievements in the field of European integration and the role and place of projects in European studies, and also focused on strengthening the impact of the project not only at the university, but also beyond.
Svitlana SHYTIKOVA highlighted the key aspects of current continues and periodic/final project reporting and demonstrated clear examples of work in the Periodic Reporting Module of the Portal Grant Management System.
During the event, participants gained knowledge and developed skills on how to:
- know and understand the features of the implementation of Jean Monnet projects in Ukraine;
- manage the project and grant funds;
- involve participants in cooperation and synergy within the Jean Monnet projects;
- communicate with EACEA, target groups and stakeholders;
- disseminate results of the European studies of the project and provide visibility;
- prepare continues and periodic reports within the Jean Monnet project in the Portal Grant Management System.
