International Conference “Integrity, Open Science and Artificial Intelligence in Academia and Beyond: Meeting at the Crossroads” (15.12.2023, online)
On December 15, 2023, the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine team joined the International Conference “Integrity, Open Science and Artificial Intelligence in Academia and Beyond: Meeting at the Crossroads”.
The conference brought together a wide range of educators and scholars from foreign and Ukrainian universities, research institutions, and other organisations. The event was held within the Jean Monnet modules AICE – With Academic integrity to EU values: step by step to common Europe» and «OSEE – Open Science and Education in Europe: success stories for Ukrainian academia» with the support of the European Union. Among the speakers are Veronika KRÁSNIČAN, Executive Director of the European Network of Academic Integrity (ENAI), and Sebastian DAHLE, President of the European Council of Doctoral Students and Junior Researchers (EURODOC). The National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance (NAQA) joined the organisation of the conference together with ENAI, EURODOC and other stakeholders who promote the principles of academic integrity in the educational and scientific area.
The moderator of the conference, Chairman of the Ethics Committee of the NAQA Artem ARTYUKHOV, emphasised the important role of foreign and national partners in shaping a culture of quality and integrity in the Ukrainian educational area.
Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, delivered a welcoming speech at the conference and emphasised integrity and responsibility for the quality of project implementation and results. The speaker informed about new calls and opportunities for synergy and cooperation.
Nataliia STUKALO, Deputy Head of the NAQA, in her speech drew attention to the fact that the NAQA, which is also a member of ENAI and other international associations, pays special attention to academic integrity in the Ukrainian educational area, guided by the Standards and Recommendations for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area ESG-2015. Speaker noted the efforts and achievements of Ukrainian higher education institutions in promoting academic integrity, which is an essential component and positive factor in ensuring the quality of higher education.
