International scientific and practical conference “Challenges for tourism business in Ukraine: European practice” (04-05.05.23., online / Lviv)
On 4-5 May, 2023, in Lviv, the International scientific and practical conference “Challenges for tourism business in Ukraine: European practice” was held in an online format. The event was held by Lviv Polytechnic National University as part of the EU Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project 101085171 – EEPHCT – ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH “European experience in the promotion of heritage and cultural tourism” (EEPHCT).
In the work of the Conference, 82 speeches from 113 authors from various universities of Ukraine and abroad were presented at the plenary and sectional meetings.
In her welcoming speech, Svitlana Shytikova, PhD, coordinator of the National Erasmus+ office – Ukraine, informed the conference participants about the key actions of the EU Erasmus+ Programme and opportunities for Ukraine, highlighted the topical issues of involving international projects and, in particular, Jean Monnet projects, in cooperation in the field of tourism in the terms of the European integration of Ukraine and explained the peculiarities of the implementation of international projects during the period of war and martial law.
Nataliya Chukhrai, vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work and international relations of Lviv Polytechnic, Oleg Kary, head of the department of organization management, also addressed the participants of the Conference with welcoming words.
The conference participants discussed such issues as; The current state and development trends of the tourism industry in Ukraine and the EU; Cross-border cooperation in the field of tourism in the conditions of European integration; Cooperation between Ukraine and the EU in the field of tourism; European experience of popularizing objects of historical and cultural heritage; Management of recreational services in the system of the tourist industry; The impact of the Ukrainian-Russian war on the development of the tourism industry in Europe, etc.
