On July 20–21, 2025, Uzhhorod National University NEO – Ukraine together with EduHub with the support of ESAA funds  hosted the international training “AI4Students”. The event gathered 14 participants and was dedicated to current trends in the field of artificial intelligence, its impact on the educational environment, academic mobility, and the digital transformation of society. It brought together participants from various regions of Ukraine, as well as representatives from Armenia, Lithuania, and Georgia.

The program was rich and intensive, covering key topics that are highly relevant to young people eager to engage in global technological processes. The event was organized thanks to Gevorg Arutyunyan (garagErasmus / EduHub), Arshak Ulubabyan (garagErasmus), and coordinated with the involvement of Kateryna Zhdanova (National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine) and the International Relations Department of Uzhhorod National University, in collaboration with a number of leading trainers and experts in artificial intelligence and digital innovation.

The event began with an introductory tour of historic Uzhhorod, where participants were able to experience the city’s unique atmosphere and enjoy its architectural and cultural heritage. In the evening, an informal networking dinner was held, laying the foundation for active interaction among participants. The official part of the program on July 21 began with welcoming remarks from the organizers and event partners, as well as a brief overview of the current state of academic mobility in Ukraine. In particular, participants were greeted by the Vice-Rector of Uzhhorod National University, Myroslava Lendel.

During the session “Navigating the AI Revolution”, participants explored the historical context and the transformative potential of artificial intelligence in the professional landscape. The session was led by Arshak Ulubabyan (garagErasmus).

Special attention was given to the topic “The Influence and Integration of AI and Advanced Technologies in the Erasmus+ Programme context”, where new opportunities for using technology in international student programs were discussed. Participants also took part in a hands-on segment “Exploring the landscape of diverse generative AI tools”, followed by the session “Hands-On, Interactive AI Workshop”, during which they implemented their own micro-projects using generative AI.

In the second half of the day, a panel discussion “Advanced Technologies & Their Use by the 4 ESAA Organizations” was held, featuring Olena Bazylivska (EMA), Anna Melekh (ESN), Gevorg Arutyunyan, and a representative of the OCEANS network (TBC). The discussion was moderated by Kateryna Zhdanova. Afterwards, participants had the opportunity to relax during an interactive session led by Salome Keshelashvili (ESN / garagErasmus).

Taisia, a third-year student at the Faculty of Philology (majoring in “Ukrainian Language and Literature. World Literature”) and a specialist in the International Relations Department at UzhNU, shared her impressions: “Participating in this event was a real revelation for me. I saw how artificial intelligence is becoming a powerful tool not only in science and technology but also in the humanities and international cooperation.”

The final highlight of the educational program was the session “Smart Future: Web3.0 Internet”, conducted by Linas Starshelskis(garagErasmus / Efektas Group), followed by an interactive discussion “AI and the Future: Conclusions & Reflections”, which took place in an open-dialogue format, including summaries and participant presentations.

The AI4Students event became an important platform for intercultural dialogue, the formation of new partnerships, and the strengthening of the European educational space. Uzhhorod National University remains open to similar initiatives that support youth development and Ukraine’s integration into global academic processes.
