On 29 October 2026, the team of the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine joined the Final Dissemination Conference of the Erasmus+ CBHE project UKRENERGY, “Innovative Master Courses Supporting the Improvement of the Energy and Carbon Footprint of the Ukrainian Building Stock”, held at the University of Genoa, Italy. The event focused on the project’s results, the role of higher education in Ukraine’s recovery, and prospects for international cooperation in energy efficiency and sustainable buildings.
Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine, delivered an online introductory speech as part of the conference’s opening session. Her participation contributed to the international dialogue on the role of European cooperation and the EU Erasmus+ Programme in supporting the development of Ukrainian higher education.
During the conference, participants discussed the results of the UKRENERGY project, which aims to develop and implement Master’s programmes in energy efficiency, building retrofitting and energy planning at Ukrainian higher education institutions. The project has also supported the upgrading of teaching laboratories, the development of joint Ukrainian-European teaching materials, and stronger cooperation between universities and industry stakeholders.
Particular attention was paid to the project’s impact on Ukrainian higher education institutions, the role of human capital in Ukraine’s recovery, and future labour market needs for specialists in energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. Participants also discussed prospects for further cooperation between higher education institutions within European programmes.
The UKRENERGY project is funded by the EU Erasmus+ Programme under the Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) action. Its aim is to support the modernisation of Ukrainian higher education through the introduction of relevant Master’s programmes, stronger cooperation between universities and employers, and the dissemination of European experience in energy efficiency and sustainable buildings.
