Introductory speech within International Conference ‘Digital Transformation of Higher Education in Ukraine: Building an Integrated Ecosystem’ within the framework of the Erasmus+ CBHE project ‘Digital University – Open Ukrainian Initiative (DigiUni)’ (27.11.2025, Kyiv)
On November 27, 2025, the team from the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine took part in the International Conference “Digital Transformation of Higher Education in Ukraine: Building an Integrated Ecosystem”, held in Kyiv at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv within the framework of the Erasmus+ CBHE project “Digital University – Open Ukrainian Initiative (DigiUni)”.
The conference served as a professional platform for discussing the role of digital tools in transforming Ukraine’s higher education system, presenting interim results of the DigiUni project, and identifying strategic directions for building an integrated digital education ecosystem aligned with European approaches to quality, accessibility, and inclusiveness.
Within the conference programme, Zhanna TALANOVA, Deputy Coordinator and Analytical Manager of the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine, Coordinator of the Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE team), contributed as a speaker, sharing expectations and challenges related to the creation of a unified digital ecosystem for Ukrainian universities. In her intervention, she emphasised the need to develop appropriate regulatory and quality assurance approaches to digital higher education, including the consideration of digital-specific features within accreditation and external quality assurance mechanisms.
The conference also addressed the alignment of the DigiUni project with the EU Digital Education Action Plan 2027 and Ukraine’s national digital transformation agenda for education and science, the role of European university alliances in developing digital ecosystems, and key issues related to digital learning content, virtual mobility, inclusiveness, and quality assurance. The event brought together representatives of Ukrainian higher education institutions, public authorities, international partners, and expert communities committed to advancing the sustainable digital transformation of higher education in Ukraine.
