Meeting on Cooperation between Ukrainian Higher Education Institutions and EMT Network Universities within the Erasmus+ Programme to Enhance the Quality of Translator Training (30.10.2025, online)
On October 30, 2025, the team from the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine took part in the meeting on cooperation between Ukrainian higher education institutions and universities of the European Master’s in Translation (EMT) network, dedicated to opportunities for enhancing the quality of translator training within the Erasmus+ Programme.
The meeting brought together 49 participants, including representatives of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Translation (DG Translation), the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC), EMT network universities, and Ukrainian higher education institutions.
Within the framework of the meeting, Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine, contributed as a speaker and presented existing and ongoing Erasmus+ projects aimed at modernising higher education in Ukraine. Particular attention was given to the project Modernization of Legal Education for the Support of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine (EU4UA), implemented under the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE), Strand 2, as an example of systemic educational reform aligned with European standards.
In her intervention, Svitlana SHYTIKOVA also emphasised the national priorities for Erasmus+ projects recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, highlighting the importance of strengthening institutional capacity, updating study programmes, developing human capital, and deepening cooperation with European partners.
The meeting served as a platform for discussing concrete opportunities for partnership between Ukrainian universities and EMT network institutions, as well as practical ways to maximise the potential of the Erasmus+ Programme to support the development of translator education, academic cooperation, and Ukraine’s integration into the European Higher Education Area.
