Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine meeting on “Priority directions of changes in higher education for 2018-2019” (26.01.18, Kyiv)
On 26 January 2018 in National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine organised the meeting on “Priority directions of changes in higher education for 2018-2019”. Liliya HRYNEVYCH, Minister of Education and Science, Vyacheslav KYRYLENKO, Vice-Prime Minister of Ukraine, and Alexander SPIVAKOVSKY, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Science and Education, chaired the event.
More than 100 participants attended the event: members of Collegium of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, rectors, HEIs staff, representatives of HERE team, student community and NGOs. During the meeting, participants and speakers discussed priorities for higher education reforming in the context of Strategy for the development of HE 2025, Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education” modernization and others.
HERE team was presented with the following members: Yuriy RASHKEVYCH, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine; Oleg SHAROV, Director, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine; Volodymyr LUGOVYY, First Vice-President, National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine; Svitlana KALASHNIKOVA, Director, Institute of Higher Education, NAES of Ukraine; Volodymyr BAKHRUSHYN, Professor of the Department of the System Analysis and Calculative Mathematics, Zaporizhia National Technical University; Taras DOBKO, Senior Vice-Rector, Ukrainian Catholic University; Vadym ZAKHARCHENKO, Vice-Rector, National University “Odessa Maritime Academy”; Olena KOZIEVSKA, Deputy Head of Secretariat, Committee for Science and Education, Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine; Andriy STAVYTSKYY, Associate Professor of Economic Cybernetics Department, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
Liliya HRYNEVYCH, Minister of Education and Science, presented the Ministry’s working out on priority changes in HE 2018-2019. Volodymyr KOVTUNETS, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, presented new approaches to the distribution of state funding for HEIs in the format of the formulas for calculating funding. Yuriy RASHKEVYCH, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, outlined the prospects for dual education implemented in Ukrainian HE based on international experience.
Svitlana KALASHNIKOVA, Director, Institute of Higher Education, NAES of Ukraine, made proposals on HE reform priorities in the context of integration into EHEA. Speaker noted the role of the HERE team and relevance of Tempus and Erasmus+ Structural Projects’ results for the effective changes in the national higher education system.
