Participation in the Annual Forum of the Alliance of Ukrainian Universities “Managing Higher Education Institutions During War” (26-27.03.2024, Kyiv)
On March 26-27, 2024, the team from the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine participated in the Annual Forum of the Alliance of Ukrainian Universities titled “Managing Higher Education Institutions During War” held in Kyiv.
Volodymyr Bugrov, Rector of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of cooperation among Ukrainian universities: “The Alliance is a place for discussion. We are different: private and public, large and small, specialized and classical. We meet to synchronize our efforts and develop visions for solving problems. I am convinced that today we have a platform for discussions, crucial for aligning visions, especially during the turbulence caused by war and the ongoing reform process. Positions may differ, but they need to be discussed, which requires space and time. Therefore, I am pleased to welcome and host my colleagues.”
The Forum focused on issues such as talent search and recruitment in the educational market, strategic change management, business engagement, participation in university supervisory boards, financial sustainability tools, and building interactions within the “business-government-community” triangle.
Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine, also participated in the event. She introduced the participants to the current Erasmus+ Programme calls and provided key recommendations on project implementation.
The work of the Forum was organized into three thematic sections – “Talent Management,” “Strategic Change Management,” and “Financial Sustainability Management.” During these sessions, Alliance members and business representatives shared their models, and participants had the opportunity to develop approaches for their communities through group work and World Café formats.
The Forum was an excellent opportunity for representatives of higher education institutions to collaboratively address current educational problems and challenges and share experiences and useful contacts.
Over the two days, more than 100 participants, who attended both in person at the Art Salon of the Main Building of KNU and online, contributed to the discussions. They developed a range of proposals that will be reviewed and considered by the Alliance’s management team.
