Participation in the Partnership Meeting “Higher Education Transformation: Cooperation with British Universities and Next Steps” (13.12.2024, Kyiv)
On 13 December, 2024, the team from the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine joined the partnership meeting “Higher Education Transformation: Cooperation with British Universities and Next Steps”, organised by the British Council Ukraine in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine as part of the “Leaders of University Transformation for Ukraine’s Reinvention” (LUTUR) Programme.
The event brought together representatives of Ukrainian universities, experts and officials to discuss the outcomes and prospects of collaboration in higher education. More than 50 representatives of higher education institutions and experts participated in the meeting.
The panel sessions were moderated by Svitlana KALASHNIKOVA, Coordinator of the LUTUR Programme, HERE team member.
The meeting programme included:
- presentations by Ukrainian higher education institutions on the results of study visits to the UK and their experiences of cooperation with British universities;
- a speech by Iryna SIKORSKA, Director of the International Education Center at Mariupol State University and National Higher Education Reform Expert of the EU Erasmus+ Programme, who shared her experience of participating in the project alongside other university teams;
- a panel discussion on the values of partnerships in higher education;
- a speech by Mychailo WYNNYCKYJ, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine and member of the Higher Education Reform Experts team (HERE team), about the prospects for Ukrainian universities;
- identifying challenges, needs, and opportunities for modern higher education institutions during teamwork sessions;
- a concluding speech by Oleg SHAROV, Director General of the Directorate for Vocational Pre-tertiary and Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and National Higher Education Reform Expert of the EU Erasmus+ Programme, summarising the findings of the working group teams.
- identification of challenges, needs, and opportunities for modern higher education institutions during team sessions.
- Oleg SHAROV, Director General of the Directorate of Higher Education and Professional Pre-Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, HERE team member was a discussant suming up the outcomes of the group presentations of the Ukrainian Universities.
- Iryna Sikorska, International Center Director of Mariupol State University and HERE team member was among the project team and shared her experience of participation in the project.
During the event, Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine, delivered a presentation titled “Opportunities for the UK and Ukraine in the EU Programme Erasmus+ for 2025 Calls”, highlighting opportunities within the Erasmus+ Programme for the 2025 calls.
The meeting served as a platform for experience exchange, defining next steps, and strengthening cooperation between Ukrainian and British universities.
