Presentation of the Jean Monnet Module “The EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy: challenges related to the War in Ukraine” (ESEDEP) (13.10.2023, online/offline)
On 13 October 2023, a presentation of the European Union Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project ” The EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy: challenges related to the War in Ukraine” (ESEDEP) was organised at Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University (Mykolaiv, Ukraine).
The event was organised by the ESEDEP project team. The presentation of the ESEDEP Project Module was attended by representatives of the National Erasmus+ Office, more than 60 students of social sciences and humanities, and scholars from the Ukrainian and European educational institutions.
During the event, welcoming speeches were delivered: Leonid KLYMENKO, the Rector of the Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University, Doctor of Technical Sciences; Petro KRAINIK, Project Manager, National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine, Jean Monnet Actions; Yurii KOTLIAR, First Vice-Rector of the University, Doctor of Historical Sciences; Alla KOVAL, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work and International Cooperation, Doctor of Legal Sciences; Oleksandr SHEVCHUK, Head of the Department of International Relations and Foreign Policy, Doctor of Political Sciences, as well Ihor TODOROV, Doctor of Historical Sciences.
From the ESEDEP Project Coordinator, Alina IOVCHEVA, the participants had the opportunity to learn about the Project’s goals and objectives, its structure, implementation features, and expected results.

Additionally: The Jean Monnet Module “The EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy: challenges related to the War in Ukraine”(ESEDEP) is to develop and teach a Training Course for the “International Relations” specialty students of the Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University (PMBSNU) with the aim to develop students as a pro-European specialists on the subject of the international conflict management, preventive diplomacy and international communications. At the same time, the Module includes scientific research of the functional role of the EU in the international security space, the dissemination of knowledge about the EU in the academic environment, the public sector, and Ukrainian society in general.
