Seminar “Internationalization of Higher Education” for Managers of International Departments of Ukrainian HEIs
On September 28, 2015 the Seminar “Internationalization of Higher Education” for Managers of International Departments of Ukrainian HEIs was initiated by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, National Erasmus+ office in Ukraine and the National Team of Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE).
The main aim of the event was to discuss conceptual principles of the process of internationalization of Higher Education and its main tools. Therefore, the current questions based on the approach of international activities’ management in the HEIs, project management, academic mobility, international students.
About 50 managers of international departments of HEIs from different parts of Ukraine (Kyiv, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Odessa, Kirovograd, Donetsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Nizhyn, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Uzhgorod, Lutsk, Chernivtsi, Ternopil, Poltava, Melitopol) were present at the Seminar.
During the Seminar Hanna Novosad, Head of International Cooperation and European Integration Department of MESU, focuses on new capabilities for Ukrainian HEIs with the adoption of the new Law “On Higher Education”, which gives universities the autonomy to increase capacities, activities and cooperation with foreign HEIs.
During the presentation “Project management: implementation of projects under the EU Erasmus+” Director of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine Svitlana Shytikova put attention to three main program areas: mobility, cooperation and internationalization support. Svitlana Shytikova spoke about expansion of geography of Ukrainian partners on international programs (New Zealand, Malaysia, the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, People’s Republic of China), about Projects on Credit and Degree Mobility
