On November 21–22, 2025, the team from the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine took part in the training “Cooperation between Universities and Schools in International Erasmus+ EU Programme Projects to Improve Teacher Education: eTwinning and CBHE”, organised by the National eTwinning Support Office – Ukraine jointly with the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine, with the initiative and support of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.

The training was held at the University’s Central Building — the Residence of Bukovinian and Dalmatian Metropolitans, a UNESCO World Heritage Site — and brought together more than 80 participants, including academic staff and students of higher education institutions involved in teacher education, as well as eTwinning Ambassadors representing general secondary education schools.

Within the framework of the event, Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine, highlighted Erasmus+ opportunities for strengthening cooperation between universities and schools, with a particular focus on Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) projects. The contribution emphasised the added value of combining Erasmus+ instruments with eTwinning initiatives to enhance the quality of teacher education, strengthen institutional international capacity, and actively engage students in international educational cooperation.

The training programme addressed practical experiences of higher education institutions’ involvement in the EU eTwinning Programme, the role of critical thinking and innovative educational approaches in teacher education, and opportunities to apply interdisciplinary and cultural practices in teaching and learning. Particular attention was given to examples of successful international project activities and to the quality criteria for eTwinning projects.

The event concluded with collaborative group work focused on developing joint initiatives between schools and teacher education institutions that can be implemented within the Erasmus+ / eTwinning framework. The training served as a practical platform for partnership building, experience exchange, and identifying concrete pathways to improve the quality of teacher education through international cooperation.
