Visit of EU Ambassador to Ukraine Mr Hugues MINGARELLI to S. Kuznets KhNUE

13th of December 2016 Ambassador to Ukraine, Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Mr Hugues Mingarelli visited Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics during the official visit to Kharkiv region. Rector of Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics professor Volodymyr Ponomarenko spoke about the implementation of projects supported by the EU, activities of EU Information Centre at the university, shared plans for following projects and initiatives of cooperation with European universities and companies. The delegation visited the Start-up Center “First Capital”, which launched within the EU project Tempus SUCSID.

EU Ambassador to Ukraine get acquainted with double degree programs that are implemented at Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics and other Kharkiv universities during the meeting with students and graduates of academic mobility programs. Participants shared their experience of studying in European universities-partners and its implementation in Ukraine in their professional activities.

During the round table, led by Iryna Zolotaryova, member of Ukraine National Team of higher education reforms experts, were presented projects, financed by the program Erasmus+ and Horizon 2020 at universities and scientific institutions in Kharkiv, including Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics, Karazin Kharkiv National University, National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”, National Aerospace University “KHAI”, People’s Ukrainian Academy, Kharkiv Regional Institute of Public Administration, Ukrainian State University of Railway Transport, National Science Center Kharkov Institute of Physics and Technology, Beketov National University of Urban Economy in Kharkiv.

EU Ambassador to Ukraine Mr Hugues Mingarelli hold a lecture-discussion “Kharkiv: Destination Europe”, in which focused on EU support of Ukraine, helping internally displaced persons, promoting entrepreneurship and relations with business partners in EU, support the participation of Ukrainian universities in European projects and mobility programs, emphasized their role in the implementation of social reforms. The participants asked questions about the prospects of Ukraine’s European integration.

Also the University was visited by delegation which include Mr Jurgis Vilcinskas, Head of Press and Information, Mr Tanel Tan, Policy Officer, and Ms Lyudmyla Shcherbanyuk, interpreter.
