Workshop: Good Practices and Ideas for Cooperation within European University Alliance FOREU4ALL & Ukraine event (16.10.2025, online, Kyiv-Prague)
On October 16, 2025, as part of the nationwide #ErasmusDays2025, the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine team, in collaboration with the FOREU4ALL European University Alliance and supported by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic and the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research, held the workshop “Good Practices and Ideas for Cooperation within European University Alliance FOREU4ALL & Ukraine.” The event took place in a hybrid format. All activities within #ErasmusDays2025 were organized by NEO in Ukraine together with and supported by various co-organizers (details can be found in the #ErasmusDays2025 concept description).
The event was attended by about 50 participants, including representatives from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research, NEO in Ukraine, and universities from both Ukraine and the Czech Republic involved in European University Alliances.

The workshop opened with welcoming remarks and introductory speeches by Jean-Marc PLANEIX (EPICUR Alliance) and Michal KARPÍŠEK (E3UDRES2 Alliance). They presented the meeting’s goals and concept, emphasizing the importance of further involving Ukrainian higher education institutions in European University Alliances. The speakers highlighted that such initiatives facilitate the exchange of best practices and create conditions for deeper integration of Ukrainian higher education into the European area, fostering innovation, inter-university cooperation, and collective responses to modern challenges in education and science.
The plenary session, dedicated to outlining the context of cooperation and strategic development goals, featured keynote speeches that defined the main directions for the further integration of Ukrainian HEIs into the European landscape:

Mr. Václav VELČOVSKÝ, Director General of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, presented the Czech experience in supporting Ukrainian universities and refugee students. He highlighted initiatives aimed at ensuring access to education, academic mobility, and the integration of Ukrainian students into the European educational environment. Mr. Velčovský stressed the importance of maintaining sustainable partnerships between Czech and Ukrainian universities as a foundation for strengthening the Common European Education Area.

Maryna MRUHA, Head of the Expert Group on Integration into the European Higher Education Area and Quality Assurance of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, HERE team expert, member of the BFUG, outlined priorities for the Ukrainian higher education system amidst European integration and post-war recovery. She emphasized the significance of international partnerships and EU programs like Erasmus+ for enhancing the institutional capacity of universities and modernizing the educational process.

Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, presented a vision for building the capacity of Ukrainian HEIs for international cooperation, focusing on participation in European initiatives as a factor for the sustainable development of Ukraine’s higher education system.
The plenary part concluded with a video message from Manuela RIPA, Member of the European Parliament and member of the Committee on Culture and Education (CULT). She expressed her support for Ukraine and its educational community, stressing the need to further strengthen partnerships between EU and Ukrainian universities and the importance of integrating Ukrainian institutions into European educational and research networks as full participants.
