Youth and Support for Vulnerable Groups of Children: A Workshop as Part of the DP5YOU Project (March 20, 2026 р., Polianytsia village, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Ukraine)
On the 20th of March, 2026 in the village of Polianytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Ukraine, as part of the project “Digital Platform of Knowledge and Skills Development for Youth Working with Child Migrants and Refugees at European Level” (DP5YOU), co-funded by the European Union, an important hybrid event was held, bringing together over 70 participants.
The event served as an important platform for learning, professional discussion, and the exchange of experiences regarding contemporary approaches to working with migrant children, refugee children, and other vulnerable children. Special attention during the event was given to the potential of the digital platform as a learning space for youth, designed to promote the development of knowledge, skills, and practical competencies in this field.
The event opened with remarks from the First Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and project team member Yuriy Muzyka, who welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of implementing initiatives aimed at supporting youth and developing modern approaches to working with vulnerable children.
Greetings were also delivered by the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, presented by Kateryna Zhdanova, project manager and coordinator of opportunities in the fields of youth and sports. In her address, she welcomed the event participants and highlighted the importance of the project’s implementation.
During the event, Dmytro Ivanov, a project team member from the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, spoke, presenting key opportunities for youth and outlining current directions for supporting and developing youth policy.
Special attention was given to presenting the results of the project’s first year and the next steps. This part was presented by Liliana Hutsuliak, a member of the project team and administrative staff member of the non-governmental organization “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORTS. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE”- the project coordinator.
An important part of the event was also the presentations by project partners, who shared their vision for future cooperation, exchanged experiences, and emphasized the importance of international collaboration in achieving the project’s goals. In particular, representatives from ASSOCIACAO CHECK-IN, INSTITUTUL DE INSTRUIRE IN DEZVOLTARE MILLENIUM, and the National Agency for Programs Development and Youth Work joined the discussion.
Giving the floor to all project partners was an important part of the joint dialogue, strengthened communication among partners, and facilitated the coordination of future joint actions.
The event in Bukovel served as a valuable learning platform for presenting practical approaches, discussing innovative tools, and gaining a better understanding of how cross-sectoral cooperation, youth initiatives, and modern digital solutions can support migrant children, refugee children, and other vulnerable groups.
The implementation of such events within the framework of the DP5YOU project confirms the importance of creating a modern, accessible, and effective educational environment for young people who seek to acquire new knowledge, develop practical skills, and implement positive changes in their work with children in need of support.
