Roundtable “Social partnership at the local level: political aspect” (05.12.2023, online/offline)
On 5 December 2023, Poltava State Agrarian University hosted a roundtable “Social partnership at the local level: political aspect”. The event was held within the framework of the European Union Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project “Citizen participation and social dialogue as key factors in the development of sustainable territorial communities: EU best practices for Ukraine” / № 101085535 — SuTCom — ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH.
The event was attended by more than 50 people from territorial communities, business, NGOs, and the academic community, including academic staff of the Department of Public Management and Administration, Information Systems and Technologies of PSAU, and students majoring in Political Science.
During the roundtable, presentations were made by Volodymyr MYKIYCHUK, Executive Director of the Association “Poltava Regional Association of Local Self-Government”; Mykhailo KONONENKO, Head of the Poltava District Council; Yevhen BOVA, Head of the Novoselivska Territorial Community; Olha KHOMENKO, Deputy Head of the Nekhvoroshcha Village Head on Matters of Executive Authority Activities; Vita REKETOVA, Director of the Poltava Regional Development Agency “Office of European Integration”; Oleksandr GLAZOV, Advisor to the Chairman of the Poltava Regional Council on Participation and Youth Affairs, Deputy of the Poltava District Council and other.
Speakers focused on such topical issues as: local self-government in Ukraine in the new political realities: current state and prospects, decentralisation as a way of innovative renewal of local authorities, improvement of their capacity, innovative forms of citizen participation at the local level, social dialogue between NGOs, entrepreneurs, business representatives, political image of local self-government bodies as a basis for building sustainable territorial communities.
During the event, participants shared their practical experience, voiced the problems of territorial communities and proposed ways to solve them at the legislative level.
