Presentation of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project “Integration of European Values into Ukrainian Education, Science, and Sports” (26.10.2023, Chernivtsi)
On 26 October 2023, a presentation of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project was held at the Yuri Fedkovich Chernivtsi National University. The event occurred within the framework of implementing the European Union Erasmus+ Programme project under Jean Monet’s direction, “Integration of European Values into Ukrainian Education, Science, and Sports”.
The event was attended by more than 40 students of future physical education teachers of the University’s Faculty of Physical Education and Human Health, scientists, and guests.
Roman PETRYSHYN, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, professor, rector of the Yuriy Fedkovich Chernivtsi National University, Petro KRAINIK, project manager of the Jean Monnet Actions from the National Erasmus+ office in Ukraine (EU funded project), made speeches during the event.
In his speech, the representative of the NEO in Ukraine focused on EU values, their integration and dissemination in Ukraine, the experience and role of the EU in supporting democracy, talked about the possibilities of the EU Erasmus+ Programme for students, about synergy and inter-project cooperation.
The coordinator of the project, candidate of sciences in physical education and sports, associate Professor Yaroslav GALAN, focused on the primary goal of the project, which is to study the experience of the EU in the implementation of European values in the field of education, science, and sports. On this basis, it is planned to develop winter and summer schools and prepare and publish recommendations. Target groups: students, teachers, scientists, civil servants, politicians, representatives of public organisations. Key initiatives were introduced at the project presentation. The team behind its implementation was introduced, and everyone had the opportunity to express their thoughts and suggestions. The project team, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Yaroslav ZORII, and Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Yury MOSEYCHUK, discussed student opportunities. Doctor of Philological Sciences professor Jan KAPRANOV emphasised the importance of integrating European values into the modern educational process of students.
During the event, the participants got acquainted with the terms of the project and learned about the main stages of implementation.
