Kick-off meeting EUs Erasmus+ project “Digital Platform of Knowledge and Skills Development for Youth Working with Child Migrants and Refugees at European Level” (DP5YOU) (11.01.2025, Chernivtsi)
On January 11, 2025, a kick-off meeting was held in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, within the framework of the European Union project ERASMUS-YOUTH-2024-CB “Digital Platform for Knowledge and Skills Development for Youth Working with Migrant and Refugee Children at European Level” (DP5YOU), implemented within the framework of the Erasmus+ program.
Kateryna Zhdanova, Project Manager and Coordinator of Youth and Sports calls of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, welcomed participants and provided consultations during the meeting. She presented key recommendations on building synergies with already implemented international cooperation projects, as well as the specifics of implementing Erasmus+ projects within the framework of the Programme rules and Ukrainian legislation. Practical recommendations were provided on possible ways to implement the project during the war, as well as the use of grant funds within Erasmus+ CBHE projects.
On behalf of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, which is a partner of the project, Vladyslav Yatsuk, Head of the Youth Policy Department, greeted the participants. In his speech, he outlined the priorities of youth work in Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of supporting youth initiatives in the current environment.
The project is coordinated by the public organization YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE”. The head of the organization, Yaroslav Galan, presented plans and key stages of implementation, describing the first steps of the initiative.
Each project partner presented their organization, sharing their experience of working with young people and their main activities. They described how their initiatives contribute to supporting youth workers and developing programs for children of migrants and refugees.
Partners from Moldova and Portugal joined the discussion of the project’s future steps. The meeting was held in a warm, constructive atmosphere that emphasized the importance of cooperation between partners.
The DP5YOU project aims to create a digital platform for training youth workers who will work with migrant and refugee children. The initiative includes trainings, roundtables, sports and entertainment events.
Work on the project has already begun, and there is a rich program ahead that will contribute to the development of young people and raise professional standards of work with children.
