Flash mob for Europe Day: we are a team, we are Europeans / TEAM-EU-UA (09.05.2025, Chernivtsi)

As part of the project “Developing Team Spirit for the Implementation and Integration of EU Values in Ukraine / TEAM-EU-UA”, on May 9, Europe Day in Ukraine, a colorful flash mob was held to promote European values, physical activity, and a healthy lifestyle among schoolchildren.

The aim of the event was to draw attention to the importance of physical activity as a factor in the development, unity, strength of spirit, and European identity of schoolchildren.

The project coordinator, candidate of physical education and sports sciences, associate professor, and head of the public organization “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORTS. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE,” emphasized that today it is more important than ever to support young people through physical activity and to form a common value space with the European Union.

Deputy Director for Educational Work Anzhela Pochynok emphasized the importance of active participation of schoolchildren in educational and patriotic events that shape a conscious, responsible, and value-oriented generation.

A special highlight of the event was a demonstration performance by Diana Maksymchuk, a student of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports, and Rehabilitation at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University and master of sports in artistic gymnastics, who presented the audience with the elegance, strength, and grace of Ukrainian sports.

The culmination was a flash mob program led by Olena Moroz, associate professor, candidate of physical education and sports, senior researcher on the topic “Active Nation.” The bright, dynamic, and inspiring flash mob united schoolchildren around European symbols, movement, and emotional unity. Participants performed synchronized movements with the flags of Ukraine and the European Union, transforming the schoolyard into a space of joy, respect, and harmony.

The participants were also addressed by Professor Oleksandr Tomenko, Doctor of Physical Education and Sports, who emphasized the role of physical activity as one of the tools for strengthening the health and social unity of young people.

The event was also attended by Miloš Zirić, coordinator of the European School Sports Federation, who supported the initiative as an example of the implementation of European educational and sports approaches at the local level.

The event demonstrated how, through the joint efforts of educators, scientists, public organizations, and young people, it is possible to create an active, conscious, and value-based environment that unites Ukraine with the European community.

We sincerely thank all participants, partners, and guests for their inspiration, energy, and shared vision of Europe in the heart of every child!
