4th meeting of the participants of the European Association of Universities Thematic Peer Group (TPG) project in the field of “Transnational Joint Education Provision” (TJEP) (5-6.10.2023, Nice)

On 5-6 October 2023, the 4th meeting of the participants of the European Association of Universities Thematic Peer Group (TPG) project in the field of “Transnational Joint Education Provision” (TJEP) took place at the Côte d’Azur University in Nice (France).

The thematic working group was attended by Iryna ZOLOTARYOVA, member of the National Team of Experts on Higher Education Reform Erasmus+ (HERE team), Professor of the Department of Information Systems of Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics and Karina NEMASHKALO, Vice-Rector of Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics.

Students and graduates of the university who participated in international educational programmes and mobility projects joined online.

The following topics were discussed during the meeting:

  • Identification of the most serious challenges and proven practices in transnational collaborative education;
  • The Sustainable Development Goals as a useful platform for transnational education to attract students from all over the world and develop global and intercultural skills for staff and students.

During the meeting, the participants discussed important issues and agreed that more attention should be paid to intercultural communication both online and offline.

In addition, the following issues were discussed:

  • Study of student demand for joint transnational education providers as an important factor in their activities, as well as labour market needs for “global” graduates.
  • A detailed analysis of joint virtual transnational initiatives.
  • Exploring reliable and well-directed partnerships within which to launch “transnational joint activities”.
  • The importance of value alignment.

The outcomes of this meeting will be used to develop recommendations for universities and other stakeholders on how to improve transnational collaborative education and make it more accessible to students and teachers.
