Anuual Pre-Departure Orientation meeting for Erasmus Mundus scholars 2024 (19.07.24, online)

On 19 July 2024, NEO- Ukraine joined online Pre-Departure Orientation meeting for Ukrainian scholars of EMJMD 2024 Call, annually organized by EU Delegation to Ukraine in close cooperation with Erasmus Mundus Association (EMA).

Over 15 newly selected master students from Ukraine, Erasmus+ Alumni, Embassy representatives and organisers actively participated in online event. The agenda of the event included 1 intense day full of presentations, experience sharing sessions, online meetings with Embassies, particularly Belgium.

Viktoriya DAVYDOVA, EU Delegation to Ukraine, welcomed students and congratulated them with new position of Ambassadors of Ukraine, and expressed confidence that the knowledge they have gained will be essential for implementing reforms and support Ukraine on its path to European integration after the victory.

Svitlana SHYTIKOVA and Kateryna ZHDANOVA, NEO – Ukraine, provided presentation on additional opportunities within Erasmus+ during the EMJMD course and after their completion within the Erasmus+, as well as with other opportunities for funding the academic, inter-university and scientific activities. In addition, speaker and participants discussed the issues and key recommendation to cross the board during war in Ukraine. In addition, the speaker and the participants discussed the details of visa and residence permit applications, the stages of settlement, documentation packages, and the issue of students traveling abroad under martial law in Ukraine.

At the end of the online meeting, Erasmus Mundus Alumni Association highlighted their experience, success stories and provided recommendations for a quality education in Europe. During the Q&A session, students received tips on organizational issues related to national visas, internal regulations and cultural differences. Students have gained practical skills and knowledge necessary to start their EM study smoothly.
