Introductory speech at the EUniverse Final Conference “EU values at the core of Integration, Education, and Innovation” (16-18.06.2026, online)

On 16 June 2026, the team of the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine joined the final conference of the Erasmus+ international project EUniverse: “EU Values at the Core of Integration, Education, and Innovation”, dedicated to the role of European values in integration, education and innovation. The conference took place in Granada, Spain, from 16 to 18 June 2026, bringing together representatives of higher education institutions, student organisations, European university alliances and the European Commission.

Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine, delivered an introductory speech online at the conference. The event provided a platform for exchanging experience and discussing the role of European values in the development of higher education, active student engagement, digital transformation and inclusion.

During the conference, participants discussed practical approaches to supporting student integration, wellbeing and success, including universities’ experiences in responding to the challenges caused by Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine. Representatives of higher education institutions and student communities also presented research, good practices and their visions for the development of a higher education system based on European values.

Ahead of the conference, a Transnational Project Meeting was held to discuss the final results of EUniverse and the further dissemination of the project’s outputs.

The project’s key results include practical resources to support the integration of European values into the activities of higher education institutions:

  • Empowerment Manual;
  • Student Dialogue Framework;
  • EU Values Course;
  • Methodology for Structural Change in Higher Education Institutions;
  • Policy Recommendations.

The materials will be published on the official EUniverse project website.

The EUniverse project is implemented under the EU Erasmus+ Programme and aims to strengthen the role of European values in higher education by promoting inclusive approaches, actively engaging students in university life, supporting digital transformation and improving international cooperation. The project partners are developing tools and methodological materials to help higher education institutions integrate the principles of democracy, equality, solidarity and respect for diversity into their educational, research and management activities.
