19 Ukrainians will study on EU-funded Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree programmes of Excellence
In total, 19 Ukrainians out of 3 111 winners representing 144 nationalities of the 2026 call — including 15 scholarship holders and 4 non-scholarship holders — will study on Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters programmes at universities in EU member states and worldwide and to be funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme.
17 female and 2 male students from Ukraine will start Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree Programmes funded by EU this autumn at the leading universities of Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and the United Kingdom. The main subject areas of the students’ choice are: Journalism and Media, Public Policy, Urban Studies and Architecture, Ecology and Sustainable Development, Education and Educational Policy, Museum Studies and Cultural Heritage, Medicine and Space Biology, Linguistic Data Science, Economics and Law, International Business, Digital Arts, Sports Management and Ethics, etc.
Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters are unique master degree programmes developed by a consortium of a minimum of two European universities which can provide scholarship grants that fully cover the study programme, travel cost, insurance, visa support, plus scholarship of EUR 1 000 per month, etc. In addition to their main curricula, students will be enrolled at language courses, traineeships, learn about the countries of their stay, discover and enjoy new culture together with groupmates from around the world.
434 Ukrainian students have won Erasmus Mundus scholarships in the period 2014-2026. While totally from 2004-2025, from its opening, 722 Ukrainians including teachers, Master and PhD students benefited from Erasmus Mundus Joint Programmes. Erasmus Mundus Alumni are working in different sectors of public service, state, private, national and international organisations in Ukraine and worldwide. They are considered to act as ‘ambassadors’, promote and support Ukraine in Europe and will contribute to Ukraine’s development, modernisation and reforms.
