Introductory speech at the Gala Conference on the results of the Erasmus+ CBHE PROMENT project (28-29.01.2026, online)

On 28–29 January 2026, Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine, delivered an introductory speech at the Gala Conference presenting the results of the Erasmus+ KA2 Capacity Building in Higher Education project “PROMENT – Promoting Professional Education and Students’ Engagement through a Comprehensive Mentoring and Tutoring System at HEIs”. The event took place in Lviv at Lviv Polytechnic National University and in an online format.

The conference marked the completion of the three-year project and served as a platform to present the outcomes of implementing innovative mentoring and tutoring systems in universities in Ukraine and Georgia. Prior to the conference, a Steering Committee meeting was held to ensure the sustainability of project results and to discuss follow-up cooperation.

The final conference was organised in a hybrid format: partners from Ukraine, Georgia and Poland met in Lviv, while other consortium members and representatives of the academic community joined online. The programme included presentations of pilot mentoring and tutoring initiatives — from first-year student support schemes to start-up mentoring and activities linked to the Green Deal agenda. Panel discussions addressed the role of digital tools in mentoring and the involvement of business and civil society in aligning higher education with real-world challenges.

In her speech, Svitlana SHYTIKOVA emphasised the strategic importance of Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education projects for institutional modernisation, quality enhancement and systemic reforms in universities. She highlighted that PROMENT demonstrates how international cooperation can lead to sustainable institutional changes, strengthen student-centred approaches and foster inclusive and innovation-driven higher education environments.

The Gala Conference confirmed the potential of the developed mentoring and tutoring models for further scaling and integration into university development strategies, contributing to the advancement of quality and resilience in higher education.
