On March 29, 2026, the National Support Office for eTwinning – Ukraine, together with the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine, organised the Leadership Training “Creating the School of Our Dreams” for students and teachers of Marhanets Lyceum No. 10 and Smila Art Lyceum “Success”. The event continued the two-day programme aimed at promoting international cooperation, leadership, and the active involvement of young people in shaping a modern school.
Agenda (in Ukrainian)
The training aimed to develop a shared vision of a modern school, identify the key characteristics of a successful educational environment, define the changes needed for its development, and design practical steps for implementing proposed ideas. Participants included students and teachers from Marhanets Lyceum No. 10 and Smila Art Lyceum “Success”.
The training was facilitated by Svitlana KALASHNIKOVA, Member of the Erasmus+ Higher Education Reform Experts Team (HERE team) and Coordinator of the National Support Office for eTwinning – Ukraine. Working in teams, participants identified the core values of a modern school, analysed opportunities for its development, designed their own improvement projects, and presented their proposed solutions.
Within the event, Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine, presented information on the opportunities offered by the EU Erasmus+ Programme for general secondary education institutions. During the information session, participants learned about the Programme’s funding opportunities, international academic mobility, cooperation partnerships, and other instruments supporting the internationalisation of schools. Particular attention was paid to the development of schools’ international activities, participation in European projects, and the expansion of cooperation with partners from the Member States of the European Union.
The practical format of the training fostered the development of teamwork, leadership, strategic thinking, communication, and project planning skills. Particular attention was given to involving students in decision-making processes, strengthening partnership between teachers and students, and fostering a sense of responsibility for the development of their educational institutions.
At the end of the training, the teams presented their own concepts of the “School of Our Dreams”, followed by a closing session and the presentation of certificates to participants. The event reaffirmed the importance of developing leadership competences, a culture of cooperation, and active citizenship as essential components of modern European education.
