Seminar “eTwinning and Other Opportunities of the EU Erasmus+ Programme for Strengthening the International Capacity of Schools” (28.03.2026, Smila)

On March 28, 2026, the team from the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine, together with the National Support Office for eTwinning – Ukraine, organised the Seminar “eTwinning and Other Opportunities of the EU Erasmus+ Programme for Strengthening the International Capacity of Schools” at the Smila Art Lyceum “Success” of the Cherkasy Regional Council. The event was held with the participation of the DOCU/CLUB Network of the Docudays NGO and formed part of a two-day visit to the educational institution.

The seminar brought together 36 school principals, deputy principals, and English language teachers from the Cherkasy Region and the Marhanets City Community. The aim of the event was to strengthen the international capacity of schools, promote the opportunities offered by the EU Erasmus+ Programme and eTwinning, raise educators’ awareness of international cooperation, and support the development of partnership projects between educational institutions in Ukraine and the Member States of the European Union.

Svitlana KALASHNIKOVA, Member of the Erasmus+ Higher Education Reform Experts Team (HERE team) and Coordinator of the National Support Office for eTwinning – Ukraine, presented the opportunities offered by the eTwinning Programme for general secondary education institutions, introducing participants to the European professional community of teachers, partner search tools, the implementation of joint educational projects, and opportunities for teachers’ professional development.

Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine, delivered an information session on the EU Erasmus+ Programme funding opportunities for general secondary education institutions. The presentation introduced current instruments for international cooperation, mobility, partnerships, and grant support, as well as practical recommendations for preparing competitive project applications and developing the international activities of schools.

During the concluding discussion, participants received answers to questions regarding participation in Erasmus+ calls, the registration of educational institutions, the search for international partners, and the development of long-term cooperation with European schools. The seminar provided a platform for exchanging experience and expanding the international opportunities of educational institutions in the Cherkasy Region and the Marhanets Community.
