Meeting of the Union of Rectors of Ukraine with Alliances of European Universities (6.07.2022, online/offline)
On 6 July 2022, Meeting of the Union of Rectors of Ukraine with the Alliances of European Universities was organised. The meeting was held by representatives of the Union of Rectors of Ukraine and representatives of International Relations Department Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
Rafal VITKOVSKII, Vice-rector for International Cooperation of Adam Mickiewicz University (Poznań, Poland) highlighted key points from the Meeting of the Ministers of Education of the EU countries and representatives of the European University Alliances in Versailles: issues of cooperation with Ukrainian higher education institutions, as well as development of an effective mechanism for cooperation and support of Ukrainian educational institutions. In addition, speaker emphasized that decisions regarding educational budgeting and planning previously adopted in Versailles will undergo conciliatory procedures in all EU countries.
Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, NEO – Ukraine Coordinator, presented Erasmus+ mobility opportunities for cooperation with Ukrainian higher education institutions. Speaker stressed the full-scale invasion influance on the redistribution of funding for cooperation with russian higher education institutions in favor of Ukraine that broaded opportunities for foreign colleagues to use the available financials for cooperation with Ukraine.
Ksenia SMYRNOVA, Vice-Rector of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, spoke about educational process in Ukraine and stressed the importance to get tools for successful integration into the European educational area.
Jean-Marc PLANE, Vice-President for Academic Partnership and Management of the University of Strasbourg, focused the newest problem of intellectual emigration as one of the most acute problems of Ukrainian higher education caused by the war.
Volodymyr BUGROV, Rector of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, assured representatives of the Alliances of European Universities that the support offered and provided by foreign partners is incredibly important for the leading higher education institution of Ukraine.
