Meeting of Vice-Rectors for International Cooperation with the support of the Union of Rectors of Ukraine (23-24.11.2023, Poznań)

On 23-24 November 2023, the team of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine joined the meeting of the Vice-Rectors for International Cooperation, established under the auspices of the Union of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Ukraine in September 2023, which took place at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.

The Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań hosted almost 60 vice-rectors of Ukrainian universities, for whom it was primarily an opportunity to meet in a safe environment and discuss the challenges facing higher education in times of war.

The two-day meeting also summarised the results of nearly a hundred events that have taken place at the University of Poznan since January with the participation of representatives of Ukrainian higher education institutions.

Rafał WITKOWSKI, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at the Adam Mickiewicz University, emphasised: “The meeting, which, on the one hand, summarises the results, and on the other hand, gives an opportunity to plan specific actions that higher education in Ukraine needs.”

Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, Project Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, made a presentation “Erasmus Generation Internationalisation – Quality and Competitiveness” about strategic directions, key documents and priorities, Erasmus+ opportunities for Ukrainian universities and preparation for the 2024 calls. 

During the second day of the meeting Deputy Minister of Education and Science, responsible for higher education, Member of Erasmus+ HERE Team, Mychailo WYNNYCKYJ introduced the priorities in higher education that the Ministry is working on during an online meeting.

As a result of the two-day discussion, the Council of Vice-Rectors identified priority areas of activity, created working groups for each area, and agreed on a list of tasks.
