Meeting with the team of the Presidential Foundation for Support of Education, Science and Sports (13.11.2024, Kyiv)
On 13 November, 2024, an official meeting took place at the office of the Presidential Foundation for Support of Education, Science and Sports between Olga BUDNYK, Advisor and Authorized Representative of the President of Ukraine for the Presidential Foundation for Support of Education, Science and Sports, and the team of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine — Svitlana SHYTIKOVA and Zhanna TALANOVA.
During the meeting, the participants discussed ways to develop and strengthen Ukrainian Studies abroad by leveraging the resources and opportunities of the European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme in the fields of education, training, youth, and sports.
Ukrainian Studies, as an academic discipline, play a pivotal role in shaping a global understanding of Ukraine. By providing comprehensive research on Ukrainian topics, these studies offer international students and researchers an opportunity to gain deeper insights into the history, culture, and political processes of modern Ukraine, free from stereotypes and distortions. This is especially important for debunking myths and countering russian propaganda, which often dominates the global information space.
Additionally, the participants explored directions for future projects in non-formal education and initiatives aimed at youth temporarily residing abroad. Implementing such projects will help preserve Ukrainian identity among young people and support their sense of belonging to the Ukrainian community.
Our shared goal is to enhance the position of the Ukrainian academic community in the global intellectual space. Deepening knowledge about Ukraine will foster mutual understanding and strengthen cultural and academic ties on the global stage.
