Participation in the Ukrainian Open Science Forum UOSF2024: uniting the scientific community for the future (21.11.2024, online)

On 21 November 2024, the team of the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine participated in the Ukrainian Open Science Forum UOSF2024, held in a hybrid format.

Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine, delivered a welcome address, highlighting the importance of open science for Ukraine and the role of Erasmus+ projects in fostering innovative development within the higher education system.

The UOSF2024 Forum brought together representatives of the academic community from Ukraine and abroad, focusing on the implementation of open science principles, academic integrity, and contemporary challenges and opportunities for Ukrainian higher education institutions in a globalised world. This event marked the culmination of the Optima (Erasmus+ CBHE) project, which has supported the advancement of open science in Ukraine over the past four years.

Key topics discussed during the forum included:

  • integrating the Ukrainian scientific community into the global research landscape;
  • the impact of open science on reforming research ecosystems;
  • the National Open Science Plan and its role in advancing science and education in Ukraine.

The event was organized with the support of the European Union and international partners, including the National University “Lviv Polytechnic”, Sumy State University, Graz University of Technology, Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, the University of the Côte D’Azur, and others.
